Fungicide Decision-Making Tools and Resources
Published: 06/29/2026
CPN offers a range of tools and resources to support fungicide decision-making. Explore some of them below.
Crop Risk Tool
This tool forecasts disease risk by feeding local weather data into validated models. Currently, it has risk models for tar spot, gray leaf spot, and Gibberella ear rot of corn, white mold and frogeye leaf spot of soybean, Fusarium head blight of wheat, and cotton planting risk.
Fungicide ROI Calculators
These calculators share results from university uniform corn, white mold, and alfalfa fungicide trials conducted in the United States and Canada. They allow farmers and other ag professionals to calculate the potential return on investment for fungicide applications across a variety of user-defined factors, such as disease severity, expected yield and commodity sale price, and treatment costs per acre.
Disease and Insect Distribution Maps
The CPN has multiple disease, nematode, and insect distribution maps that show where these issues have been confirmed in the U.S. and Canada this growing season.
Fungicide Efficacy Publications
Several working groups have developed ratings for how well fungicides control major crop diseases in the United States. Efficacy ratings for each fungicide listed in the tables were determined by field-testing the materials over multiple years and locations.
Fungicide Efficacy Tool
This tool was designed to quickly filter the fungicide efficacy tables. Users can filter by crop, disease, FRAC code, and product/ingredient.
Fungicide Use in Field Crops Web Book
This web book addresses current fungicide issues by considering the most recent advances in fungicide science while building upon past discovery. This web book equips readers with a baseline of information needed to effectively manage diseases of field crops using fungicides. Importantly, it will also help determine when it’s best not to apply a fungicide. Read from start to finish or use the table of contents to navigate to specific topics such as fungicide chemical classes, application, or optimizing use.
Crop Lookout Map
Crop Lookout is a real-time, interactive map tracking reports of crop diseases, pests, and agronomic issues across the U.S. and Canada. Built on Ag Pest Monitor and powered by EDDMaps, it enables timely, verified reporting. Updated throughout the growing season by university Extension specialists and research partners, it helps monitor field conditions across broad regions.
This publication was developed by the Crop Protection Network, a multi-state and international collaboration of university/provincial extension specialists and public/ private professionals that provides unbiased, research-based information to farmers and agricultural personnel.
