Stripe Rust Sightings Continue to Expand Across Kansas, Ontario, Michigan

Multiple positive detections of stripe rust continue to be reported across Kansas, including Barber, Pratt, Kiowa, Comanche, Edwards, Pawnee, Barton, Ness, Cloud, Smith, Osborne, Harvey, Reno, Sedgwick, and Labette counties. Reports from Ontario have also expanded between June 2nd and June 5th. These reports suggest that environmental conditions are favoring stripe rust development across a broad geographic area. The concentration of detections in Kansas and southwestern Ontario may indicate active disease movement and establishment in regional wheat fields.

A positive report of common corn rust was recorded in Jackson County, Florida.
Corn leafhopper activity was reported in Caddo County, Oklahoma.
