Soybean Defoliation

Details:

Bean leaf beetle damage was observed at the Western Agricultural Research Station in early May. Scouts reported a presence of bean leaf beetles, as well as the defoliation that can be seen in the photos. Soybeans were at the V1 (first trifoliate) growth stage and 25-50% of the site contained defoliation. The soybeans in this field were planted on March 25, 2024. Soybeans planted on April 16, 2024 had less defoliation.
